How To Create a Fabulous Blog Header For Free

Do you want people to take your blog seriously? Do you want them to stumble on your site and feel like they’re on a professional webpage? Of course you do! If your website looks like a 5-year old put it together overnight, then chances are your readers won’t take you too seriously.

Also, with a poorly drafted header, advertisers won’t take you seriously either. Like it or not, your blog header is incredibly important when it comes to down to the success of your blog – both in measuring the number of visitors, as well as for the monetary income.

Where to Find the Free Image

One of the most important aspects of your site is the banner image. This is something that you could whip up yourself in a design program, but unless you’re a graphic designer, I would advise against it. I just simply went to Google and typed in, “free website banner images”, and got a ton of sites that have images available for you to choose from.

More specifically though, check out these websites for free banner images if you aren’t interested in surfing through Google for one:

Once you find a free web banner image that suits your site, save it to your desktop.

How to Give Your Header a Professional Touch

One of the worst things you can do to your header is use an ugly font. Believe it or not, the font of your website title is incredibly important. It needs to be easily read, but it also needs to go with the overall theme of your site. If your site is about old movie scripts, it would be wise for you to find an old typewriter font for your title. Just by looking at the font, your readers will have an idea of what your site is about.

In order to add a professional font to your newly saved image, head over to BannerFans. I’ve used this site on multiple occasions and it’s always worked great for me (a man that has no clue about graphic design).

All you have to do is upload your image to the site, specify what dimension you’d like to stretch it to, and then simple add your site name anywhere on your image. There are a wide variety of fonts to choose from, and I’m certain that you can find something that works for you.

  1. I used this site for my banner but didn’t have an image. I really need to update my banner so my site looks more professional.

Your banner isn’t bad (I’ve seen much worse), but if you had a background image, I bet the appeal would increase 2 fold. Good luck! I’m interested to see what you come up with!
